We put together a list of the top pet-friendly vacation spots, with activities that we promise will keep tails wagging! So, what are you waiting for? Give Fido something to bark about and book a pet-friendly trip!

Anchorage, Alaska
Visit Alaska and take in all of its natural beauty: snow capped mountains, massive glaciers, and forest filled hills. Bring along your trusty companion and go trekking through the beautiful and scenic nature trails this magnificent vacation spot has to offer. Chugach National Forest in Anchorage has a variety of nature trails to choose from. Whether you are starting out on a 3 mile hike or you are looking for something a bit more challenging, Chugach has the right trails for you. Rent an RV and stay overnight at one of their dog-friendly campsites. Your pet must be leashed at all times but if that means he gets to spend more time with you, we don't think he'll mind.

Juneau, Alaska
If hiking is not your forte, perhaps you and your pup would be interested in a little whale watching. Orca Enterprises in Juneau, Alaska will send you and your companion on an Orca Eco Tour as you charter the waters of Auke Bay with "the whale man of Juneau", your trusty guide Captain Larry Dupler. You and your dog will be surrounded by killer whales and other wildlife creatures, so have your digital camera ready and take plenty of pictures!

Houston, Texas
Pack your cowboy hat and a pair of cowboy boots, tie a bandana around your dog's neck and head on down to the Lone Star State. Texas, with its abundance of pet-friendly hotels, is an ideal locale, perfect for any four-legged friend. During the day, you can visit the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center and walk the nature trails of this urban sanctuary for both plants and wildlife and at night, check out one of the free concerts that the Miller Outdoor Theater in Houston has to offer.

Fort Worth, Texas
Before you return home, stop on over in Fort Worth and visit the Fort Woof dog park where your pooch will get the chance to roam free and interact with other dogs.

Las Vegas, Nevada
When you think of planning a trip to Las Vegas, your first instincts may be to leave Fido behind. Well, now you don't have to. Bring him along and together you can take a tour of the famous Vegas Strip. Although your dog won't be able to venture inside the buildings, the view from the street is just fine. You'll be able to see most of the popular tourist attractions that Vegas has to offer including the famous dancing water fountains located right outside the Bellagio hotel. Las Vegas Pet-Friendly Hotels has an extensive list of pet-friendly places in the area that will allow your buddy to relax, while you hit the slots later on!

Located just a few miles west of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon is another great place to take your pet for the day. With bike paths, hiking trails and scenic mountainous lands perfect for climbing, this park has a lot to offer the adventure seeker and his adventure seeking companion. Your dog is allowed in the conservation area but must be kept on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended.

Napa Valley, California
Experience the warmth of California sunshine with your pet. Visit Napa Valley and take your furry friend to the pet-friendly Clos Du Val Winery, where you can enjoy selected wines from their special vineyards and he can enjoy the fresh outdoors. Pack a lunch and picnic in their Olive Grove or travel to Bistro Don Giovanni in the Napa Valley area and dine outdoors in the patio area and chow down with your pal.

Key West, Florida
Want to skip the nature hikes altogether and opt for something a little more relaxing and carefree? Why not travel to Key West, Florida with your pet and visit Dog Beach, the only beach where dogs are allowed in the Key West area. The sun and the sand and the beautiful clear water will have your pal feeling like he is truly one lucky dog!

If you are looking for a little exercise while you are down in Florida, why not visit the Lazy Dog Island Outfitters & Outdoor Adventure Co. and take the Lazy Dog Doggie Paddle kayaking trip with their tour guide, Colby. Before every trip, the kayaking guides give a kayaking lesson, then it's off paddling as you and your poochie pal sit comfortably in your colorful kayak!

New York City, New York
Feeling a little hungry for an urban vacation? Maybe Fido wants to take a bite out of the Big Apple. New York City has plenty of pet-friendly activities for you and your pet to enjoy. Why not visit one of the New York City based morning shows like The Today Show or Good Morning America and become a member of their outdoor audience. Who knows, maybe you and your pooch will become national television stars.

Take your dog on a scenic stroll through one of the biggest and most famous parks in the world, the historic Central Park and better yet, hop on one of Manhattan's famous horse and buggy rides located all throughout the city. Dogs are always welcome!
