SAN DIEGO – The family of one of two Marines who went missing earlier this week in Southern California has filed a missing persons report after the two failed to show up at work and were placed on "unauthorized absence" status by the military.
The family of 20-year-old Pfc. Margaret McMahon Reid says she and her husband, 22-year-old Pfc. George Reid, disappeared Monday from their respective jobs at Camp Pendleton and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. They say there has been no sign of the couple at their apartment in Escondido.
Marine Corps officials confirmed the two were on "unauthorized absence" status.
