Travelers at Baltimore's airport will be bathed in lighting with green and blue hues and surrounded by relaxing music as they make their way through security.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lauren Wolf says those features and better-trained employees will reduce stress at checkpoints. She said security screeners will be trained on relating to travelers as they go through security and their luggage is checked.
Along with keeping travelers calm, the relaxed atmosphere could help highlight someone with criminal intentions. The TSA says that because checkpoints will be quieter, potential security threats who are acting strangely or nervous would stand out.
