Running from home … and the law.

A 10-year-old runaway armed with a rock allegedly tried to rob a Tennessee convenience store but came away empty-handed after a shocked clerk told her to leave, WSMV.com reported.

Police said the girl entered a Mapco Express on Monday night, throwing a rock at the clerk’s chest before demanding money, the story said.

The clerk reportedly was so stunned that the child had to ask three times for the cash before he could respond, telling her: "'You need to leave the store,'" Detective David Dixon recalled the clerk said.

Police said the girl had run away earlier that night and appeared to have a stable home life, WSMV.com reported.
