Authorities say a suspect wanted in the kidnapping of a 13-year-old Phoenix girl has been arrested in California near the Mexican border.

Sgt. Joel Tranter of the Phoenix police says 24-year-old Jose Peiro-Rojo was taken into custody early Saturday morning.

He's believed to be one of the men who snatched Marquesia Thomas off a southwest Phoenix street at gunpoint on Monday. She was held for nearly seven hours before being dropped off nearly 30 miles away. Her kidnapping prompted an Amber Alert.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and haven't publicly identified any other suspects.
