LONG BEACH – Police say a 12-year-old boy is dead and a man wounded in what authorities believe is a gang-related shooting.
Sgt. Dina Zapalski says the shooting occurred about 10 p.m. Sunday on East 15th Street. She says the victims were standing in front of a home when they were approached by two suspects who opened fire.
Both victims were transported to area hospitals. Zapalski says the boy died, but the man is expected to survive.
No arrests were immediately made in the case.
