A plea agreement is on hold for a 12-year-old Florida boy accused of beating a toddler cousin to death.
Attorneys say two psychologists have concluded that the boy isn't mature enough to understand key aspects of the legal system.
That means he will remain in juvenile custody in Fort Lauderdale until another psychological evaluation in 60 days.
The boy has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder as a juvenile in the January beating death of his 17-month-old cousin.
If the plea deal goes through, the boy would probably spend less than two years in custody and then be put on probation.
