4 Dead, Including Two Children in Car, Logging Truck Collision in North Carolina

Police say two adults and two children are dead following a collision between a car and a logging truck in North Carolina near the Virginia line.

The state highway patrol says the crash happened Thursday afternoon on a highway west of Winton in Hertford County. Troopers are investigating. The patrol says the car crossed into the path of the truck.

Authorities say four people died at the scene.

Patrol Sgt. M.W. Warren says a 3-year-old girl was taken to a hospital and is "fighting for her life."

Police say the truck driver wasn't seriously injured.
