A 4-year-old U.K. girl whose father wrote a nationally heralded blog about her brave battle against a rare childhood cancer is once again battling the disease, the Telegraph reported on Tuesday.
Samantha Hughes of Heanor, Derbys, England, was diagnosed in October 2005 with neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nerve cells. Following removal of the tumor, a bone-marrow transplant and chemotherapy, Samantha was believed to be in remission.
But a recent scan showed the cancer had spread to her bone marrow, the Telegraph reported.
Her father, Neil Hughes this week said he felt numb at the setback, according to the report.
