California Woman Critical After Stroke Suffered During Pepper-Spray Attack

A 50-year-old Westminster woman is fighting for her life after suffering a stroke following an attempted purse snatching in which she was pepper sprayed in the face.

Police Lieutenant Bill Lewis says Kun Min Kim remains in critical condition on life support. She suffered the stroke after being transported to an area hospital following Sunday night's attack.

Lewis says Kim told police that after she arrived home and parked in her apartment complex, a young woman attacked her.

Police say the woman pepper sprayed Kim, grabbing a bag in Kim's hands that turned out to be a lunch sack.

No arrests had been made in the case as of early Tuesday morning.
