Stop — press!

A 21-year-old man was charged Wednesday with impersonating a police officer after allegedly trying to pull over a TV reporter who turned the tables on the suspect, the Idaho Statesman reported.

The local Channel 12 employee became suspicious that what appeared to be an unmarked police vehicle following her did not, in fact, belong to an officer and called 911 to inquire before pulling over after red and blue lights started flashing behind her.

The unidentified woman asked if there were unmarked cars patrolling the area and was directed to continue driving normally as police were dispatched to investigate, the Statesman reported.

The reporter pulled into a hospital parking lot, where officers arrested Israel Dominguez. He was also charged with not having a valid driver's license, a misdemeanor. If convicted of the impersonation charge, he could face up to five years in prison.
