Scottsdale police have arrested nine people suspected of selling forged Super Bowl tickets for thousands of dollars.
Sgt. Mark Clark said Sunday that a Massachusetts couple reporting unwittingly buying forged tickets for $2,500 from a man on the street Saturday.
Plain-clothed detectives spotted a man matching a description given by the couple, and the victims then positively identified him.
Police arrested the man, 34-year-old Keith Tingman, who had four forged tickets on him.
Clark says Tingman's arrest led them to two rooms and a car at a nearby Motel 6, where they found dozens of tickets and arrested seven more suspects.
He says one suspect was trying to eat five forged tickets when police found him.
