A Chino Valley man has been sentenced to two years in prison for stealing more than $600,000 from an elderly couple who hired him as their financial adviser.

The Arizona Attorney General's Office prosecuted the case and says John Blann also was ordered to repay almost all the money. He'll also serve 7 years on probation when he's released from prison.

The 34-year-old was hired by a couple living in Dewey in 2000 and stole the money in less than a year. He used about a third of it to remodel his house.

Blann pleaded guilty to two counts of theft in October and was sentenced this week.
