Police say at least three people have been shot at a birthday party in Long Beach.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Dina Zapalski says two of victims — a 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old woman — are in critical condition. Another man also was shot and police are investigating reports that a fourth person was struck by gunfire.
Zapalski says the victims were at a birthday party being held late Saturday at the Lakewood Masonic Lodge. Several gang members apparently crashed the party and started a fight, she says.
The attack is still being investigated and Zapalski says police do not know if the victims were rival gang members.
