Where's Samuel L. Jackson when you need him?
In an incident that might inspire Hollywood to attempt a sequel to its literally-named 2006 B-grade thriller Snakes on a Plane, starring Jackson, a passenger airliner in Vietnam was halted yesterday when scorpions were found loose in the cabin.
A Vietnam Airlines flight bound for Hanoi was about to taxi onto the runway at airpor t in the central Vietnam city of Danang when two scorpions were spotted near a passenger's seat by a crew member, news agency DPA reports.
The 165 passengers disembarked and the flight was stopped for a four-hour inspection which found four more scorpions, according to Huynh Thi Thuong Van, an official with Vietnam Airlines' office in Danang.
"We don't yet know yet how the scorpions got on the plane. We are co-ordinating with relevant agencies to investigate the incident,'' Van told DPA.
The flight finally departed late yesterday without its unwanted poisonous arachnid passengers.
