Passenger Train Collides With Coal Train During Colorado Snow Storm

A light-rail passenger train collided with a coal train during a snow storm early Tuesday, authorities said.

No injuries were immediately reported.

The freight train toppled over onto the light-rail tracks, said Regional Transportation District spokeswoman Darnia Serna.

The derailment was expected to affect hundreds of riders who use the light-rail system, and motorists driving in the area of the accident. Passengers on the light-rail train were being transported by bus to bypass the crash.
