They may live in mansions and travel by private jet, but young starlets aren’t much different than your sister or mom. They appreciate the simple pleasures in life — such as purple shoes and pink bags.

FOXNews.com spoke with Hollywood hotties Rachael Leigh Cook and Lauren Conrad to find out what’s big this holiday season. Their response? Fashion, fashion and more fashion!

A Shoo-In

"What women really want is shoes," Cook, of "She's All That" fame, told FOXNews.com. "And it's not impossible to do if you check her size" and buy the same brand, she said. "Tracing the sole of her favorite shoe on a piece of paper to bring to the department store would also work," she added.

Paris Hilton’s stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliott agreed.

“We’re always getting calls from our clients looking for the perfect boot for the cold,” Current and Elliott said in an e-mail. “We also find ourselves on the phone searching for a great holiday heel in just their size. We love Cesare Paciotti and Signature Report!”

In the Bag

The stylists — who also work with Mandy Moore and Emma Roberts and design a sweater line called MAUDE loves Suss — say their clients have long wish lists this year. At the top? oversized clutches, metallic knits and unusual jewelry.

"Miu Miu and Club Monaco have beautiful bags that actually hold what you need," they said.

And forget basic black.

"Think animal print, sequined or patent leather. Take a risk. You'll be surprised with how much it goes with!" they added.

The dimensions of clutches are also getting bigger, according to Randi Siegal, owner of the hip boutique chain Rapunzel's Closet.

"Lately, clutches have started to get larger in size and detailed in fabric,” she explained, “like patent, crinkled leather and metallic threaded patterns."

Customers such as Melania Trump, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Katie Lee Joel have recently walked through the store, which is filled with clutches by Lauren Merkin, Rebecca Minkoff, Botkier and Kaia Peterka.

"The Hills" starlet Conrad also likes small bags, yet she prefers traditional styles.

"I just designed a clutch for Linea Pelle leathers," she said. "It is a simple, classic design that comes in basic colors and can be worn with just about anything."

A Shining Example

The MAUDE team also says you can’t go wrong with metallics.

"Our handmade metallic knits are great over simple dresses and tops — making everything fancy and festive. The gold slouchy berets are our celebs' faves," they said.

Anything shiny works. Ballet flats are perfect with jeans or leggings. And bags, belts and hair accessories are trendy, without being over-the-top.

It's a Cinch

Bright-colored reversible belts are popping up all over Hollywood, too. Jessica Alba, Molly Sims and Teri Hatcher have been spotted in bold-pattern, woven Keggy Belts.

"The celebrities wanted something that was up-to-date and had exclusive patterns," said Kerry Leikus, founder and designer of Keggy Belts, "and these definitely stand out!"

But these waist cinchers are far more than functional. They're so beautiful that "people tell me all the time that they plan their outfit around the belt," Leikus said.

The technicolor prints may seem daunting, but Leikus uses colors that will blend, not compete, with a girl's closet.

"My color selection process takes me days, weeks and sometimes months," Leikus explained. "And the belts tend to cross generational lines. They do well with the golf and resort community." Yet teens and 20-somethings love them, too.

Modern Rock

Jewelry can be tricky — especially when it comes to that special someone.

Don't get bogged down in the classics like gold hoops or diamond studs. Look for something unusual, the MAUDE stylists say. They love the chunky resin ring by Rings Eclectic and a rock 'n' roll-inspired pair of earrings from Wendy Nichol.

Conrad relies on the luxe Beverly Hills boutique Fourteen Karats for her picks.

"Every year I go there and design jewelry for my friends and family," she said.

Jewelry designer Neil Lane recommends traditional styles — with a twist.

"Dangling diamond drop earrings and heart-shaped diamond pendants are always a favorite for the holiday," he said.

For the Girl Who Has Everything

For the girl who has almost everything, give to the people who don't, Cook said.

"One of the best gifts I've ever gotten was a thoughtful card saying that the giver had made a contribution to a wonderful new charity in my name," she told FOXNews.com. "I felt really good knowing people were being helped and was really touched by such a big-hearted gesture in a time of so much materialism."
