Air rage incidents on passenger planes soared by 62 percent over the past year in England, according to a British study, the Daily Mail reported.

The surge was fueled by a combination of drunk and rowdy passengers, as well as smokers who refuse to obey the no-smoking rules, the newspaper reported.
According to the report by the Civil Aviation Authority's Annual Statistics on Disruptive Passenger Behavior, males in their 30s are the main offenders and many disputes involve large groups, the Daily Mail reported.
