TULSA, Okla. – A Tulsa police officer was recovering from a head injury after his patrol car collided with a horse on a city street.
Cpl. Randy Solomon was following another vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. Monday when he suddenly saw the horse running in the center of the road toward him, police said.
Solomon did not have time to avoid the animal and it ran into the driver's side of his car, then crashed through the windshield, according to Officer Leland Ashley.
Solomon was treated and released at a local hospital while the horse survived the collision and was taken by animal control officers for medical treatment.
Police were still looking for the owner of the horse, Ashley said.
