Workers discovered the decapitated body of a man Monday in a Detroit sewer on the city's east side, according to local reports.
The body was discovered under a manhole cover around 10 a.m. at Kercheval and Montclair streets, the Detroit Free Press reported.
The water department told WDIV-TV it was called to the area to investigate a sewage backup.
Police told the station identifying the victim will be difficult because the head, hands and feet were cut off. The body is described as that of a white man wearing only underwear.
Earlier this month, the decapitated, burned body of a sex offender was found in a suburb of Detroit. Two teens were charged with that murder.
