Cops: N.C. Woman, 81, Out of Jail After Punching Officer in the Face

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Authorities in Greensboro say an 81-year-old woman is out of jail after she was arrested on charges of punching a police officer in the face.

Officers had been investigating an assault Tuesday night when police say Mildred Richardson Morris punched officer Sheila A. Lennox-Spaulding twice. Morris faces one count of assault on a government official.

Arrest warrants say Morris was "extremely intoxicated, unsteady on her feet and was engaging with neighbors aggressively."

Officials say Morris is out of the Guilford County jail on a $100 bond.
