ST. PAUL, Minn. – Police early Tuesday canceled an Amber Alert issued after a 15-year-old St. Paul girl was located unharmed at an address on St. Paul's West Side.
The Amber Alert was canceled at about 12:20 a.m.
Police said an 18-year-old suspect in the alleged abduction of Jacqueline Mendoza was taken into custody.
The Minnesota Crime Alert Network issued the alert Monday evening, saying the girl was assaulted by an unidentified 30-year-old Hispanic woman and forced into a 1990s light blue four-door Chevrolet around 2:30 p.m.
Investigators said the girl had run away from home on Oct. 28 and had called her mother Monday morning to arrange to return home. Police said two had met and were walking home when the former boyfriend and the woman showed up and took the girl.
Police said they would release further details later Tuesday.
