TAMAQUA, Pa. – Police in Schuylkill County are looking for the thieves who stole solar crosses from Sky View Memorial Park.
About 200 of the crosses were stolen on Halloween night. The crosses are worth about $8,000.
"I don't know if it's a bunch of kids doing a practical joke on Halloween night with mischief night, I don't know. It's not right stealing from a cemetery," Rush Township Police Chief Rob Romanick, told WNEP.
The sunshine hits a solar cell that charges a battery inside, and at night the crosses are illuminated.
Officials say there will be an increased police presence at the memorial park.
