A New York City politician has hatched a plan to curb the pigeon population: Drug their feed with birth control.
Taking a cue from a Los Angeles initiative that gave the birds a drug to render their eggs unhatchable, Councilman James Oddo proposes giving the pigeons OvoControl-P to restrict their numbers and droppings at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, the Staten Island Advance reports.

The latest plan would add to other efforts devised by the city Department of Transportation, including additional spikes, netting and electric surfaces to shoo the pigeons.
