LOS ANGELES – Britney Spears is headed for the courtroom – and not to claim custody of her kids. Britney has a hearing set for Oct. 10 over a recent fender-bender in a San Fernando, Calif., parking lot.
Brit was officially charged Friday afternoon by the Los Angeles city attorney with two misdemeanor counts – one count of hit-and-run resulting in damaged property, and the second for driving without a valid California license. The charges stem from the incident on Aug. 6 when she slammed into a parked car and drove off without leaving details.
Spears could soon be following in the footsteps of fellow party pals Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie with a stint in jail, as both charges carry a maximum of six months behind bars and a $1,000 fine.
The victim of the “Toxic” traffic accident, Kim Rifkin, filed a police report with the LAPD North Hollywood Division three days after the debacle, and the letter of court notification was sent to Spears Friday afternoon. Rifkin raged publicly about the pop princess, telling Celeb TV at the time that "she doesn’t give a damn about anyone but herself."
After she left her lawyer's office, Britney was spotted making her way to Bel Air and into a home believed to be owned by a nurse, sparking speculation that this could be for her very first court-ordered drug test. The dancing diva appeared down and entered looking particularly "stunned."
"It was like Brit couldn’t believe it was all actually happening," an eyewitness said. "She looked like a little girl – disoriented and scared."
Tooth-Shattering Smooch for Dane and Jessica
"Good Luck Chuck" may be a fun film of love and laughter, but co-stars Jessica Alba and Dane Cook felt the painful effects of pushy passion on-set.
"During one of the scenes, Jessica and Dane Cook are making out but rather aggressively and they smashed into a wall, which was part of the scene," director Mark Helfrich explained to FOX at the premiere of the romantic comedy on Wednesday.
"But they were supposed to disengage from the kiss before they hit the wall — they didn’t, so Jessica chipped her front tooth and Dane chipped his bottom tooth."
However, when it comes to finding out who is to blame for the savage seduction, the stars themselves have a varied opinion.
"She pulled me into the wall," Dane declared.
"No, no, no — my head hit the wall, your tooth hit mine," Alba argued. "It was his fault."
However, it was Dane who finished the fight.
“It was an aggressive scene and there was a choreography thing,” Cook said. “When we smashed faces, I immediately knew that it was her fault. They said 'cut' and we had to do it 17 more times.”
And while most men would be more than happy to get hot and heavy with the Hollywood “Honey” for free, Cook believes he should have been given a bonus bank boost.
“I should have been paid double. Showing up on set every day with Jessica Alba is like … I’m not going to do this. I have to be nice,” Cook said. “We were on the 'Mickey Mouse Club' together, not a lot of people know that, when we were seven and I just knew, I knew that we would really, really have a blast and there was an affinity for one another immediately until we really got to know each other. Now I hate her guts.”
So if Dane doesn’t want her, there are still millions of men who do. But what kind of guy is she looking for?
“They need to have a good sense of humor — that’s a big one,” Alba said. “They can’t take themselves too seriously — I’m certainly not into egomaniacs.”
And perhaps they should be skilled with the stove, as this itty-bitty babe doesn’t want to waste away.
“I need to eat, I’m starving!” Alba explained to the spy who caught her slipping away just before the screening started.
Mama Spears Gets Pranked
Australian radio comedians “Hamish & Andy” earlier this week decided they wanted to assist Britney Spears, and the boys decided the best way forward was to get in touch with estranged mother Lynne Spears in Louisiana.
The comical couple somehow swindled Lynne's cell phone number and made the live on-air call, taking on the fictional front of Dale Wheeler from Dale Wheeler's Management and Talent Agency School for Talent and Management.
Hamish offered to sign on as the Britster’s manager now that she has been booted by The Firm.
However, Lynne was not laughing.
“How did you get my number? How did you get my number?” the mad momma reprimanded before hanging up — twice.
And despite her daughter’s drug-testing dilemma and the fact that Avril Lavigne has bashed Brit’s bad behavior numerous times in the past, the two hit up Hollywood hotspot Hyde together on Tuesday night. The punk princesses then whizzed down to Winston’s.
Emmy Madness: Hayden Gets Haughty With 'Us,' Kathy Griffin After O.J. and Messing Gets Emotionally Messy
It sounds like Katherine Heigl wasn’t the only one embroiled in red-carpet controversy at last Sunday’s Emmys. Aaccording to TV Guide, Hayden "Hero" Panettiere was kicking to K-I-L-L a staffer from Us Weekly.
Apparently, the alluring actress was angry about a recent report the publication ran that suggested she was quick to start romantically romping with co-star Milo Ventimiglia after splitting from Stephen Colleti.
However, just before the Hollywood hottie was able to mince the magazine’s reporter, her publicist pulled her and preached “not on the red carpet."
But someone strutting with a slightly more spirited sway was “Suddenly Susan” alum Kathy Griffin.
“I wish I could have arrested O.J. (Simpson) myself,” Pop Tarts overheard the comedian saying to a friend on the carpet. “It would have been so much fun! I love it, he’s going down one way or another and it’s about time.”
But comedian-turned-dramatist Debra Messing dug a little too deep and got her eye makeup mildly messy while chatting to FOX.
“This is the first time I’ve been at the Emmys not with ‘Will & Grace,'” said the glamour girl. “It’s not different in the sense that I’m so nervous and frightened of all these photographers, but it is different because this is the first time I’ve been nominated for an award outside of a comedy. The women I’m nominated with are all extraordinary … (tears swell) … I will carry this honor with me for a long time.”
But Deb wasn’t the only one dabbing her not-so dry eyes. Pop Tarts spotted Jaime Pressly backstage after winning her award in teary territory.
“It’s like a childhood fantasy come true,” said the yummy mummy.
'Encino Man' Returns
Remember Pauly Shore from the films of the '90s? Well, the curly-haired actor is back from the ice-age depths of “Encino Man,” and seems to be trying to hit on the hottest of Hollywood.
Pauly has been spotted everywhere recently from Les Deux to Area to Mr. Chow’s, but the almost 40-year-old appears to have quite a thing for young and pretty party princesses.
“He won’t stop calling me,” said one stunning 21-year-old model, who met Shore recently at Area nightclub. “He sends lots of texts and bugs me about going out. Now when I see him I have to hide.”
A 19-year-old glamour girl also told Pop Tarts that she’s seen Pauly partying quite a lot of late and the way he wanders around after her is “like a stalker."
But seriously — it really does seem like Shore is bursting back onto the star-studded scene, as the ice-age movie man and perennial partier has been booked to make an "appearance" on Sunday at Pasadena party-place “Ice Age."
Not So Sexy in the City?
While the “Sex and the City” movie officially began filming this week, there's still a little chaos tripping up the Manolos.
Cynthia Nixon was a no-show at Monday night’s bash at New York City's Butter nightclub to celebrate their on-screen reunion, and according to a club insider, Kim Cattrall wasn’t exactly sociable Samantha either.
“She didn’t say much all night really,” said our source. “She had a couple of drinks but certainly wasn’t reveling in the moment the way Sarah-Jessica and Kristin were. She left early and seemed really tired.”
But hopefully, the Academy Award-winning addition of “Dreamgirls” diva Jennifer Hudson may bring some melody to the mix.
“Jennifer will be playing Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant named Louise, a new character to be introduced to the film,” said a rep from New Line Cinema. “We’re very excited to have her on board. She was great at the reading.”
But Bradshaw is still in the bag with “Big." Spies spotted the perky pair getting passionate in Central Park and canoodling in front of the cameras, and apparently the dramatic duo will even be biting into a Big Apple apartment together in the movie.
A film rep also confirmed that David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis have signed back on as on-set lovers, but Blair Underwood (who played Miranda’s Knicks doctor-boyfriend in the sixth season) is still sitting by the phone.
“The series was great and I have every reason to believe the film will be even better,” Blair told Pop Tarts at TV Guide’s Emmys after-party. “I’d love to be involved, but nobody has called me yet … I’m still waiting for that call.”
The film is set to strut onto to the “Big” screen May 30, 2008.
Gulping Garner: Jennifer Pulls a 'Miss South Carolina'
Jennifer Garner stole the spotlight at Monday’s “The Kingdom” premiere in her regal red dress, but perhaps her hairspray fumes fluffed out her normally bright brain.
“I’m not sure if I will take a more active role politically in society in the future; I take things as they come,” Garner told FOX on the red carpet. “But I do think that the arts and entertainment have every right to be political as well as occasionally … what’s the word I’m looking for … the um, gosh ahhh…”
The baffled beauty bowed out for a few moments, turning desperately to her publicist for some vocabulary assistance before finally continuing:
“I’m sorry I’m going on no sleep … I sound like Miss South Carolina!” Garner said, referring to Miss Teen USA contestant Caitlin Upton, who recently made headlines for her rambling response to a simple question.
“Let’s just say that there are times when I think it’s appropriate for politics and entertainment to go hand-in-hand,” she finally said.
Charlie Sheen Ready to Rumble With Denise Richards
In papers filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by "Access Hollywood," Denise Richards asks the court to terminate ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s overnight privileges with the couple’s two daughters (ages 2 and 3).
Richards claims her ex-husband still exhibits “inappropriate behavior ... and conduct,” including “his attraction to underage women and his sexual explicitness on the Internet, including revealing his private parts.”
Sheen responded in a statement on Wednesday:
"Clearly the mother of my children has no interest in responsible co-parenting when it comes to my relationship with our girls. She behaves as though she OWNS our children. She does not. “
Sheen also says he is confident that a ruling to have a Richards rep "supervise" his time with his daughters will be dissed at an upcoming hearing set for Oct. 9 (but likely to be pushed back).
According to Charlie’s lawyer Lance Spiegel, all Denise’s recent claims that Sheen has something to sinister to hide and that is why he must be watched are a load of lies.
“Virtually all of these allegations were previously raised and were denied by Mr. Sheen,” he told FOXNews.com. “The parties have been operating under an existing custody agreement for more than a year, and during that period of time there was no attempt to resurrect any of these allegations until Mr. Sheen requested the right to select his own child care provider."
When it comes to Sheen’s new fiancée, Brooke Mueller, Richards also takes exception to the way the two handled their engagement, claiming the girls first heard of the father’s plans to marry another woman in a TV interview.
In the filing, Richards claims Sheen and Mueller told her they “did it for the press... he wanted to get the cover of People and Us magazine.”
The filing also includes a declaration from Richards’ nanny Diana Alvarez, which also fires off some sordid claims against Sheen.
In her declaration, Alvarez claims she has witnessed Sheen hit the family dogs, and also claims the couple’s daughter Sam has told her Sheen has threatened to hit her.
Alvarez also alleges Sheen “yells ... and routinely curses” in front of the children, and even goes as far as to claim Sheen “completely ignores” the youngest daughter Lola.
Richards also alleges her children don’t enjoy their time with their father and don’t want to spend the night at his house.
'Simple Wife': Nicole and Joel to Marry; 'Skinny Secrets' Slammed
Post-prisoner and pending yummy mummy Nicole Richie is officially getting ready for a rock.
Fiancé and father of her baby Joel Madden has announced that he’ll make the itty-bitty babe his bride, but no date has yet been set.
Meanwhile, the new book entitled “The Nicole Richie Cookbook” is causing controversy for exposing Nic’s supposedly “skinny secrets." The publication promises to provide “Kick-Butt Weight Loss Secrets" and claims to be a "New Book About Hollywood’s Skinniest Celebrity!”
However, in place of recipes there are 60 blank pages
Ha ha. Author Robert Smith, however, is now battling backlash after "readers" have hit back at him for poking fun at deadly anorexia. Thus he has vowed to donate a percentage of proceeds to a fund for anorexia sufferers.
Marc Anthony: J-Lo Isn't Preggo
Jennifer Lopez isn't pregnant, says her husband Marc Anthony.
"Everyone calls about this every month with the hopes that they'll hit the mark — but no,” says a statement issued by Anthony's publicist.
J-Lo and Marc recently told FOX that “parenthood was their prime priority," so let’s hope we will have some little Anthonys running around Hollywood soon.
Jamie Foxx's Fertile Fantasy: Impregnating Halle Berry
Guess what, Halle Berry? Your fiancé Gabriel Aubry isn’t the father of your baby. It's actually Jamie Foxx — or so he wishes to believe.
“They put me right in front of the Kodak Theatre beside Halle Berry," Foxx said of his new star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. "But that’s because we’ve been going out for the past eight years and are having a child … well that’s how it is in my mind anyway," the Academy-Award winner told FOX on the red carpet at the premiere of his new film “The Kingdom."
It seems the “Dreamgirls” star has been one busy boy in the bedroom ... in his head.
“We’re having a child together, too,” he announced excitedly as he gestured to “The Jamie Foxx Show” actress Garcelle Beauvais' baby bump.
“No, we’re actually having twins … just don’t tell her husband. What can I say, I’m a fertile man!”
Will Smith, who came out to support Foxx, was looking sharp in his jeans and black jacket. But he takes no credit for his wardrobe.
“I just wear whatever is on the bed for me,” the “Hitch” hottie admitted.
As for wife Jada Pinkett Smith's perfect dress, she swears style comes from within.
“You’ve just got to be happy and enjoy life,” said the tiny Tinseltown star. “Be proud of who you are and what you wear, really own it.”
Olivia Newton-John's Daughter Said to Be in Deadly Duel Against Anorexia
Chloe Lattanzi, the daughter of “Grease” star Olivia Newton-John, seems to be getting nowhere in her reported battle against anorexia, and a friend says her loved ones are fearing for the young singer’s life.
Pop Tarts spies spotted the 21-year-old at the "Entertainment Tonight" Emmys after party on Sunday, where a hush reportedly came over the room as the Tinseltown tiny mixed and mingled.
“She just looked so frail and childlike,” said the spy. “It is so sad standing there and not looking as if she was really able to relax and relish the moment.”
A close friend of the potential pop princess also said that Chloe is struggling every day with the condition.
‘We’re all so worried about her. But all we can do is give her love and support,” professed the pal. “She is working hard to make it in the industry like her mom, but for now I think she needs to focus on conquering this.”
Lattanzi even wrote a song for her upcoming album that sounds like it could be about the deadly disease:
"Can't stop moving, I'm running away/ And I'm losing my reason to feel/ All this wasting away is for you/ 'Cuz I need you to see that I'm real.''
Billy Ray Braces for Miley's Tinseltown Trouble
While "Hannah Montana" Miley Cyrus is still just shy of her sweet 16th birthday, her co-star and father Billy Ray Cyrus is ready for the curse of the “Disney” divas.
With Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan both alarming alumni of the children's network, Billy Ray is ready for his daughter’s meddle in Hollywood madness.
“It is a tough business and I understand and accept that as Miley grows up and wants to experiment in different things, she will make some bad decisions,” the country crooner told FOXNews.com.
“But we have the same relationship on-screen as we do off — I want to be her best friend. I want her to be able to come to me when she makes those wrong decisions and together we can work through it.”
But it doesn’t sound like Billy has bypassed bad behavior yet himself.
“Miley keeps a very tight reign on me,” Cyrus added. “Whenever I even try something slightly wild, she pulls me straight back into line.”
Nobody Touches Heigl!
Emmy Award-winner Katherine Heigl was at the center of a red carpet controversy — but the “Grey’s Anatomy” starlet wasn’t even aware of it.
Heigl hustled down the red line just before the doors were closing at the Shrine Auditorium, but as the screen siren was wrapping up an interview on a TV platform down below, a spat broke out between her publicist and security.
“The guard was obviously ordered to lead Katherine inside immediately,” said our spy. “He maybe touched her as a gesture to move on, but she was unaware. Her publicist completely flipped out and wanted him off the carpet.”
More security staff quickly swarmed over to the provoked pair.
George Clooney in a Presidential Predicament
No, he's not announcing his candidacy. But George Clooney is having a personal dilemma in deciding who would be best to next run the nation, after the other George — George Bush — leaves office in 2008.
"I’m in line with most of (Barack) Obama’s issues, but I could disagree on certain things. But there is something about his kind of leadership that can’t be taught," Clooney commented to FOX while promoting "Michael Clayton" in Toronto. "But I’m friends (with) and a fan of Hillary (Clinton). I think she is a wonderful politician; I don’t want to belittle what she is or what she does."
Clooney did have a few choice words for corporate America, too, but he doesn't think business barons are all bad.
"It’s usually two or three really dumb people at the top making really dumb mistakes," he said. "But you need big corporations to get things done, so it’s not just that they’re all evil. They are actually people."
Stars Want Simpson to Stay in Slammer
When it comes to star-studded sympathy, it seems O.J. Simpson has been left off the list as Hollywood’s hottest are happy to see the former football player under arrest.
"It’s clear he’s not a great person," "Entourage" actor Rex Lee told FOX on the red carpet of the Emmy Awards. "It’s about time that he was put behind bars."
Apparently, Simpson’s saga is beyond even a surgeon's sympathy — well, a TV surgeon, anyway.
"If they had put him away the first time, then it would never have come to this," "Grey’s Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo said. "Let’s hope they do what they should have done a few years ago."
The ex-NFL star can’t even drum up kindness from "The Brady Bunch."
"It’s all a little too controversial for me to comment on," said Christopher Knight, aka Peter Brady, at TV Guide’s Emmys after party. "But it’s all in the name of karma."
His wife and "Top Model" Adrianne Curry was a little more cutting with her comments.
"I feel safer with him put away," the reality star said. "He’s one scary man! Anyone who carries weapons and acts the way he does definitely should not be allowed to walk freely on the streets."
O.J. may be a legend, but not even a "Legend" offered words of support for him Sunday.
"I always thought what happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas," singer John Legend remarked inside the fabulously French-themed after party. "But I guess not. What goes around comes around."
Pop Tarts at Emmys After Party
Hollywood hot spot Les Deux was the deluxe venue for TV Guide’s Emmys after party, but there was just as much madness as there was Moet.
The "surprise" star singer of the night was anti-MTV man Kanye West, who caused chaos when he joined John Legend for a tune or two. But the "Gold Digger" was having too much fun, lost the lines of his lyrics and had to pull a plug on the performance. Hey, it’s been a big week with his "Graduation" and all.
A somewhat inebriated Whitney Port tripped on the tail of Vanessa Williams’ glamorous gown, and while the "Ugly Betty" bella looked a little livid, the reality star slipped away without a sorry.
Luckily, a herd of "Hills" pals were there for protection when Whit took a tumble in the wee hours of the morning.
"Her friends came up frantic for me to get her a taxi," an eyewitness told Pop Tarts. "They thought she was on the verge of doing or saying something she would regret."
Speaking of security sagas, it seems that all is not over between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. Rock had some famous friends snooping at the party, as word was out that Lee was on the loose and planning to pack the punch he missed out on at last weekend’s VMAs.
"I’m here to help Rock if anything happens," a movie bad guy in disguise gabbed to Pop Tarts. "He was minding his own business in Vegas when Tommy just started haggling him. Lee is a loser, and we’re here if he tries anything again."
But perhaps Pamela Anderson is taking pleasure in the rivalry between her two former flames.
"Neither can get over Pamela. They are still fighting for her," admitted the incognito star. "Of course, she loves the attention. What female wouldn’t feel a little satisfied having her two exes still squabbling?"
Meanwhile, Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell have been battling for the limelight for some time now, but Pop Tarts has learned that the two have either made peace or are part of a savvy PR stunt.
Despite losing to "The Amazing Race" for the top reality show Emmy yet again, the two stars drank and chatted at their top-notch table for a large portion of the party.
"Ryan looked really relieved that his hosting duties were over," our spy said. "Simon congratulated him on the night, and there was no tension at all."
So does the pair just put on a performance for the cameras?
"They actually get along really well most of the time," said an "Idol" insider. "But there is nothing like a few ‘fights’ to spice (up) the show."
And despite still being pink with pride while waiting for her ride, Emmy-winner America Ferrera already had given her gold statue to her boyfriend by the end of the night.
"He deserves it," said the not so "Ugly Betty." "He has to put up with me!"
No matter how "Stealth" they were, few stars escaped our prying eyes.
Jamie Foxx snuck in via a secret door to schmoose and booze right up until the lights came on while Pink showed up in a big black hat — and no one seemed to recognize who she was.
HBO Humiliation: Gandolfini and Gang Celebrate Too Soon
Every year, it happens to someone: An expected winner starts cheering when they should be jeering.
Just as the envelope was being opened to announce the Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series, the HBO table had already raised their glasses with applause for "The Sopranos" nominee James Gandolfini, our spies told us.
The let-down was almost instant: James Spader from "Boston Legal" was declared the surprise winner.
"They didn’t know what to do," the eyewitness said. "They looked terribly shocked and embarrassed. They all quickly sat down and stated to console James."
"The Sopranos" gang learned their lesson, though.
"We all got over-excited — we were so sure he would win," a fellow cast member said. "I guess we’ll know to keep quiet for a few more seconds next time."
Insiders Say Vanessa Hudgens Photos Will Make Her Millions
Some say racy new pictures of “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens may have assassinated her adolescent-market appeal ... but big-wigs in the entertainment industry predict they will simply send her fame flying.
“Did anybody really know or care about Paris Hilton before her sex tape surfaced?” a high-profile television executive told FOXNews.com. “This scandal is making her a household name — it will definitely elevate her into real star-studded status.”
And while the 18-year-old may not be interested in posing for Playboy or galloping in “Girls Gone Wild," a leading Hollywood entertainment agent believes Vanessa will earn big bucks from purely professional fashion endorsements, appearances and shows.
“Hudgens is on her way to creating a Hollywood brand,” added the agent. “When the media intensity blows over, her name will still ring a bell. If she plays her cards right, Vanessa will be the hottest thing in Hollywood without having to strip down again.”
And it seems Ness is certainly trying to undo the damage, attending church with her parents, cancelling her Jay Leno interview and posting a message of thanks to supportive fans on her Web site.
“It’s been a whirlwind week for Vanessa,” a close pal told Pop Tarts. “She has never had to deal with the media in such a way, but she is a smart girl. She knows how to get back on track.”
Here's to You, Owen
With all the sad news about Owen Wilson, here's something to cheer him up.
According to a prolific producer and entertainment industry big-wig who has worked extensively with Owen and his brother Luke Wilson, “both men are very talented.” But ...
“Owen is easygoing and a dream to work with,” the source splurged to Pop Tarts. “He listens and is an all-round good, funny guy. As for Luke, well…”
Another high-profile actor agreed, insisting that Owen is much “more open and warm” than his brunette bro.
However, Luke, who has been keeping his family strong since Owen’s apparent suicide attempt, has been spotted by Pop Tarts leaving his older brother’s Santa Monica home several times in recent weeks.
“Luke has been very shaken by this whole experience,” an insider revealed to Pop Tarts. “He is just devastated and wants nothing more than to see his brother well and happy again.”
However, friends fear this may be far away, as Owen is reportedly refusing to rendezvous into rehab.
According to In Touch magazine, Wilson has instead decided to spend $750 a day on a “sober companion,” but is in denial about his mental health.
Owen's famous friends say they were shocked that he apparently tried to take his own life.
“It’s so sad — I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news,” comedy veteran and “The Bob Newhart Show” star Marcia Wallace told FOX.
“Often being a comedian can be very dangerous, because people assume that just because you are funny you must always be happy. But he will get through this — you can get through anything you put your mind to. I had a breakdown in my twenties and it was kept hush-hush. If it had happened today I would have been on 'The View.'"
And while magic man Criss Angel can’t make Owen’s depression disappear, he can offer words of support.
“It’s hard when everything you do is under a microscope,” Angel said. “But Owen is fantastic and I know he will continue to be fantastic.”
“Idol” judge Paula Abdul also added that the famed “Focker” is a “special person who will pull through." Even Brody Jenner took time out of hightailing through the Hollywood “Hills” to support his fellow screen star:
“I don’t know the details of what happened, but I hope he’s OK,” Brody said. “He’s funny and I’m a fan. I wish him all the best.”
Eva Longoria to Trade Tinseltown for Texas?
Eva Longoria and hubby Tony Parker are happy in Hollywood for now, but as soon as they become parents, the pair plans to permanently leave town.
“Tony definitely wants to live in Texas. We both want to live in Texas,” the “Desperate Housewife" told “Extra." "But we will spend our summers in France. We want to do both, but they’ll be raised in America.”
Oscar Embarrassment: Anna Paquin Plagued by Academy Award Speech
”Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” star Anna Paquin may have been the second youngest person in history to take home an Oscar at age 11, but when it comes to reliving her 30-second speech of silence and air gulping, the sweet star would rather recoil.
“I refuse to watch it — I won’t ever bring myself to see that again,” Paquin admitted to FOX on the red carpet of Friday’s Emmy Nominees party. “I must have seemed so silly!”
And if you think no career honor could ever top an Oscar, think again.
“My Emmy nomination probably means even more to me,” Anna added. “I was just a baby in the 'The Piano' — I turned up to work and did what I was told. But now that I’m an adult I can appreciate things much more. I feel like I actually earned it this time.”
Simon Says: If Ryan Seacrest Fails at Emmys, 'Idol' Will Suffer
As the battle for the spotlight between Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest reaches a climactic point ahead of this weekend’s Emmy Awards, Simon has come out to express his fear that Ryan may actually ruin the reputation of "American Idol" if his performance is poor.
"We’re in this together, whether we like it or not," the judge told FOX. "I hope Ryan has been practicing hard, because if he fails to impress at the Emmys then all of us at 'Idol' will go down with him. The integrity of the show is certainly at stake here."
But Ryan is only enjoying what he perceives as Simon's jealousy.
"When I found out I was going to host, the first person I wanted to tell was Simon," Seacrest said smugly. "I have never felt better — I know how painful this is going to be for him. This is one step prior to hell for Simon to have to go to the Emmys — that is how bad it is. He can't not go ... and when he does go he has to sit there and really not be featured, which is going to make him miserable."
And while it’s no secret that Seacrest likes to think he’s humorous, he won’t be bashing Britney and her babies Sarah Silverman-style.
"I'm not the type of person that wants to create an uncomfortable or awkward moment," he said. "I really believe that we're there to celebrate the nominees. We're there to have fun, have a laugh — I'm happy to poke fun at myself."
Does Paris' Love Cost 50 Cents? Pamela Pursuing Hilton's Sex-Tape Ex?
When we think of Paris Hilton, we often think of designer dresses and dollars, but it turns out that the reality star may be "Simple" enough to spend just "50 Cent" for a little lovin’.
Overshadowed by Britney’s bizarre behavior at last weekend's VMAs, rumors are rumbling that the hotel heiress hooked up with music mogul 50 Cent at the launch party of his album in Sin City.
According to an eyewitness, the pair cuddled and cooed in the corner over cocktails. The New York Daily News is reporting that the perennial party girl smooched "Entourage" star and pal Adrian Grenier as well, although her rep insists the two are nothing more than friends.
One thing is for sure: Hilton did make it clear she wanted nothing to do with her ex, "Desperate Housewives" star Josh Henderson, while being pampered at the Rolling Stone suite in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Instead of a body treatment, Henderson was slapped with the silent treatment from his ex-girlfriend.
Another Paris ex, Rick Solomon, who infamously co-starred with the hotel heiress in "A Night in Paris," has been spending a lot time with Pamela Anderson.
A Pamela pal tells Pop Tarts that the two "get along really well and are just seeing where this takes them."
Sexy and Single: Hayden, Reese and Mary-Kate on the Market
So Paris and Pammy might be off limits, but the good news for single studs is that "Heroes" hottie Hayden Panettiere is pom-poming solo.
In an interview with Us Weekly, the 18-year-old splurged that she has stepped into singledom and split from her longtime boyfriend, Stephen Colletti.
However, the past pair remain "good friends" and "chat frequently."
Speaking of Splitsville, it seems the rumbling romance between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal has gone "Brokeback" yet again.
According to Us Weekly, the two have called it quits for good and apparently aren’t even on speaking terms.
Mary-Kate Olsen also is available, as her rep told In Touch magazine that the itty-bitty babe and her rocker beau, Max Snow, have broken it off. An insider added that the relationship crumbled over long distance.
"She [Olsen] was in L.A. and Max was in New York," the source said. "This made the long-distance relationship tough."
Panty-Free Preoccupation: Jack Nicholson Was a Nude Addict?
Move over, Britney!
It seems Jack Nicholson really was the original star to "Fly Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" as he combated a compulsion for being clothes-free.
According to biographer Denis McDougall, the star refused to wear cotton covering when inviting guests into his home and even sat stark naked for interviews to promote his 1971 flick "Drive."
Meanwhile, a Pop Tarts spy has learned that Jack and his veteran buddies such as Warren Beatty, Morgan Freeman, Sylvester Stallone and George Lucas plan to pan Armani in favor of Target tuxes on Oct. 3 and hang with Hollywood’s hottest for the American Film Institute's 40th anniversary.
Don't Call Him Harry: Daniel Radcliffe Relieved to Be More Than Just Potter
Although known to millions as "Harry Potter," Daniel Radcliffe is thrilled to chat about his other projects.
"It’s so fun to be here talking about something that isn’t Harry," the suave star said to FOXNews.com last Thursday at the premiere of his new film, "December Boys."
"There is so much more emotion to work with in this one. It’s about four Catholic orphans growing up in outback Australia. My character falls in love and … and it’s a really ‘real’ movie. It is so refreshing to have moved on from Harry Potter. It’s a nice feeling!"
Britney Spears' Management: 'American Idol' Judges?
The days of Britney Spears as a "Toxic" train wreck may finally be over. While most of the world is begging Britney to "Gimme Less," Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson want her to "Gimme More."
The "American Idol" judges announced to FOX that they have decided to take the Britster on board, issuing an open call to the pop princess to let them manage her crumbling career.
"We have decided we can bring Britney back," the normally caustic Cowell confirmed. "We are serious. We plan to buy her underpants, get her bigger shorts to perform in and get her away from her stupid friends."
And while many believe that Brit already has burned her career, the reality judges think Sunday night's performance was just another point on her publicity page.
"MTV ratings are up and all we're hearing is Britney, Britney, Britney!" Simon said. "She can turn it around."
"We always have time for Britney; we love her," Paula added.
So Brit, baby, if you are listening, we suggest you give these guys a call.
"We'd love to take care of you, Spears!" Randy roared. "We will make you a superstar again!"
Brit really does need help ... her new single, "Gimme More," arrived on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at a disappointing No. 85.
The song could have done a whole lot better if Britney hadn't nixed what could've been a real hit collaboration with hit music producer Timbaland and her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland told MTV.
"She has to have a team. She needs to come back with Justin doing records; [then we’d see headlines like,] ‘She went back to her ex and she’s making smashes.’ [But instead she got] so big-headed and [was] like, ‘Screw you, screw you, I don’t need nobody.’"
Not Like a Virgin: Madonna, Mary-Kate and Mandy Get Randy
There is something mischievous in the air for our "M" girls at the moment.
Perhaps life in London is putting Madonna in the mood for "Erotica," which is why she strutted into a sex store to purchase some purple pleasure earlier this week.
Madge was all smiles as she high-tailed it back into her hotel room.
And itty-bitty beauty Mary-Kate Olsen has confessed that she prefers parading panty-free.
"I run around my house naked with heels all the time," she told Elle magazine. "It’s so funny. All of my friends will tell you I love running around in kimonos and jewelry or naked with jewelry."
Meanwhile, the normally modest Mandy Moore did more than just take "A Walk to Remember" in an interview with the new VH1 show "What Perez Says."
The pop princess groaned and gyrated over a stripper pole, obviously determined to pan her Miss Perfect persona.
