POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Authorities were searching for a 10-year-old boy last seen sitting in the back seat of a car that was stolen Thursday in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Broward County sheriff's officials said Louis Gonzalez was with his stepfather in the car when two men approached the vehicle on the street. The stepfather had just left a bank when one suspect, who was armed, forced him out of the car. The child stayed inside.
An Amber Alert has been issued for Gonzalez. He was last seen wearing a red Miami Heat jersey, red shorts, black sandals and black socks.
Officials are looking for the stolen car, a gray 2007 Nissan Maxima with a temporary tag.
