Cops: Indiana Neighbors Shot Each Other to Death Over Dispute

Two neighbors in rural eastern Indiana apparently shot and killed each other during a dispute, police said.

Heather Steele, 29, was found dead Thursday morning of an apparent gunshot wound, Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze Jr., said.

The body of Albert Cummins, 64, was found dead outside of his home a short distance away.

"They just shot each other in an exchange of gunfire and both of them died of fatal gunshot wounds," Houze said.

Police were still trying to determine what sparked the confrontation, he said.

They lived near the small Franklin County community of Andersonville, about 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
