Cops: Alabama Inmate Hid Drugs in Hair

A Houston County inmate faces drug charges after corrections officers said they found ecstasy pills buried in his hair.

Byron Beachem, 33, may have thought deputies wouldn't search his hair because he wears long thick braids that he pins upward.

Investigators said Beachem was being booked into the county lockup for failing to pay child support when they found the pills in his considerable locks, The Dothan Eagle reported Friday.

He now faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband, sheriff's officers said.
