Conseco Inc. (CNO) is expected to post earnings of 24 cents a share for the second quarter, according to a survey of analysts by Thomson Financial.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (CTB) is expected to report second-quarter earnings of 20 cents a share.

Corrections Corp. of America (CXW) is expected to post earnings of 26 cents a share for the second quarter.

EMC (EMC) is expected to report third-quarter earnings of 17 cents a share.

Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) is expected to post earnings of 61 cents a share for the second quarter.

Pepco Holdings Inc. (POM) is expected to report second-quarter earnings of 32 cents a share.

Plains All American Pipeline L.P. (PAA) is expected to post earnings of 76 cents a share for the second quarter.

Spectra Energy (SE) is expected to report second-quarter earnings of 32 cents a share.

Sykes Enterprises Inc. (SYKE) is expected to post earnings of 17 cents a share for the second quarter.

Washington Group International Inc. (WNG) is expected to report second-quarter earnings of 52 cents a share.

Abbot Laboratories (ABT) said Richard Gonzalez, its president and chief operating officer, plans to retire from the company, effective Sept. 30. The heads of Abbott's four operating businesses -- medical devices, pharmaceuticals, nutritionals and diagnostics -- will report directly to Chief Executive Miles White upon Gonzalez's retirement.

Berkshire Hathaway Corp. (BRKA) (BRKB) posted a 33% rise in second-quarter profit to $3.12 billion, or $2,018 a share.
