Researchers at the University of Texas spent five years studying a less popular topic about sex — what drives people to be intimate with each other?

A group of 444 random men and women — ranging in age from 17 to 52 — compiled a list of 237 reasons why people have sex. The reasons were then ranked by 1,549 college-aged adults. The results showed that young men and women get intimate for the same reasons. Read more

Among the top reasons from U.S. college-aged men and women included being attracted to the person, they wanted to experience physical pleasure and “it feels good.” Showing love and affection were in the top ten for both men and women, but overall, heartfelt feelings took a backseat to basic attraction!
