Burned Suspect on the Loose After Torching Relatives

Police in Dallas, Texas, are looking for a man who burned himself after setting fire to family members.

Ishmael Rueben Lopez, 23, allegedly doused his mother, aunt and another woman with gasoline following an escalating, alcohol-fueled family dispute, MyFoxDallas.com reported.

Authorities said Lopez was arguing with his aunt, Adela Lopez, 52, and pulled a knife on his mother, Diann Gonzales, 44, when she intervened in the dispute. Lopez allegedly ignited the fire after his aunt and another woman, Lydia Herrera, 43, tried to stop him, the Web site reported.

The women were transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where the aunt and the mother are in critical condition, the Web site reported. There was no immediate word on Herrera’s condition.

Detectives told MyFoxDallas.com that Ishmael Reuben Lopez suffered burns himself, on the back of his legs and back. Possible charges against him include arson and attempted murder.
