A Florida woman returned home Saturday to discover that a burglar had broken in and died in her master bedroom, the Gainesville Sun reports.
Summer Janine Smith, 34, of Interlachen, Fla., entered her mobile home with her boyfriend and found Misty Carner, 29, face down in a dresser drawer in the room after they saw a pair of flip-flops that did not belong to them, the paper reports.
Deputies found pry marks on the mobile home's front door and a screwdriver in the waistband of Carner's pants.
Putnam County Sheriff's Major Keith Riddick told the paper that drugs may have played a part in the burglary and Carner's death.
Smith had reportedly seen Carner in the neighborhood before, the paper said, and authorities said relatives and others who knew her said she had been abusing cocaine.
Officers found no signs of foul play involved in the death and were awaiting autopsy results Monday to determine how she died.
