SALT LAKE CITY – A suspicious package left outside a fast-food restaurant Wednesday turned out to be a trumpet that has sounded its last note.
Several blocks were closed for about two hours as the police bomb squad investigated the package along State Street, a block south of the federal building.
A robot detonated the case.
"Some very alert citizens watched this package for a considerable amount of time and then they called the police thinking it didn't look right," Salt Lake City police Det. Gary Trost said. "Gratefully enough, it was just a trumpet."
