A man fatally shot his wife, then killed himself while visiting her Monday at a hospital, authorities said.

No one else was injured at the Cleveland Clinic, said Broward County sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion.

Hildegard Volinsky, 87, was taken to the hospital May 31 for various ailments and was kept in intensive care until Sunday, where she was sent to her private room. Her husband, Alberto, 86, went to visit her Monday as usual, she said.

The two were alone in the room when hospital staff heard gunshots. They then found the couple's bodies.

A motive was not determined and the wife was not terminally ill, Concepcion said.

The hospital is the Florida branch of Ohio's Cleveland Clinic.
