Talk About Tough Love!

Have you ever heard a parent say, “This hurts me more than it hurts you,” when punishing their child? Well, not in this case! An off-duty police officer thought a burglar was in his house and shot him. Turns out it was the man’s 18-year-old daughter who had sneaked out earlier to see a friend and was trying to sneak back in. She was shot in the knee, but should be fine. I’m sure she won’t be sneaking out any time soon!

Till Death…Get Us Apart!

It’s all fun and games…until someone forgets the key! A Kansas bride and groom were jokingly handcuffed together by a law enforcement guest at their wedding. Unfortunately, that guest didn’t have the key to un-handcuff them! The Douglas County Sheriff’s officers were called to free the couple.

A Blast From the Past

Why pay for housing when you can just build an underground bunker and live rent-free? A 47-year-old veteran from Buffalo, N.Y. has built himself a nice, private place he calls home. The bunker took two years to build, and is complete with insulation and plastic tarp covered walls and a ceiling made of wood and roofing materials. He has lived there for six years and cooks food in a hot pot and lights the 16-by-20-foot place with car batteries. What more could you possibly need?

Difficult Children

Are you a coach or youth group leader? If so, I'd love to hear from you. I was once a fourth grade Sunday School instructor. (There should be a special place in heaven for those who volunteer!) Anyway, my own children were very young and I simply didn't know how to control the nine and ten-year-old boys. The girls would come in, sit down and do whatever the project was. They would listen to the lesson without making noise. But the boys… they were a different story all together. I'd talk to the parents and sometimes their children even ignored them! Have you ever been in a situation where you had to handle unruly children who weren't your own? What did you do and did it work? What about coaches who have a large team they have to control and get to work together? How do you handle kids who misbehave? I would love for you to share your advice. Please e-mail your story to me at e.d.hill@foxnews.com. Thanks!
