New Jersey is legendary for its home-bred music stars, such as Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, but the Garden State gets shortchanged when it comes to its pro-sports teams — despite housing both the Giants and Jets football stadiums.
Three New York assemblymen recently sponsored a bill to stop the football teams, Giants and Jets, and soccer's Red Bulls, from using the Big Apple in their names, since they don't play their home games in New York.
George Zoffinger, head of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, said that, "... with all the money we give these teams, they should be called 'New Jersey.'" However, officials from the three pro-sports teams have stated that they aren't going to change their names. READ MORE
