Burger King Holdings Inc. (BKC) is expected to report third-quarter earnings of 22 cents a share, according to a survey of analysts by Thomson Financial.
Chevron (CVX) is expected to post earnings of $1.67 a share for the first quarter.
Coventry Health Care Inc. (CVH) is expected to report first-quarter earnings of 80 cents a share.
Cummins Inc. (CMI) is expected to post earnings of 86 cents a share for the first quarter.
Goodyear Tire & Rubber (GT) is expected to report a first-quarter loss of 2 cents a share.
Ingersoll-Rand Co. Ltd. (IR) is expected to post earnings of 70 cents a share for the first quarter.
ITT (ITT) is expected to report first-quarter earnings of 69 cents a share.
National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NOV) is expected to post earnings of $1.33 a share for the first quarter.
Simon Property Group Inc. (SPG) is expected to report first-quarter earnings of 33 cents a share.
Waste Management Inc. (WMI) is expected to post earnings of 36 cents a share for the first quarter.
After Thursday's closing bell, Microsoft (MSFT) said its fiscal third-quarter profit surged 65 percent, beating Wall Street estimates, as the company benefited from sales of heavily marketed new products including the Vista operating system.

Power provider Allegheny Energy Corp. (AYE) reported first-quarter net income of $109.7 million, or 65 cents a share, down 3 percent from $113.4 million, or 67 cents, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter rose to $847.6 million from $845.6 million.
Amdocs Ltd.'s (DOX) fiscal second-quarter net income rose to $87.2 million, or 40 cents a share, from $81.8 million, or 38 cents a share, a year ago. Excluding items, earnings were 52 cents a share for the quarter. The Chesterfield, Mo., provider of software products and services' revenue for the quarter ended March 31 rose to $706.4 million from $601.1 million a year ago.
Acadia Realty Trust (AKR) reported first-quarter net income of $6.72 million, or 20 cents a share, up from $4.35 million, or 13 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted funds from operations came in at $12.1 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with $9.6 million, or 28 cents a share, last year.
Arch Capital Group Ltd. (ACGL) reported first-quarter net earnings of $205 million, up from $132.3 million last year. The Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer said total revenue in the three months ended March 31 rose to $859.8 million from $840.3 million a year ago, while net written premiums fell to $871.7 million from $873.7 million.
Baidu.com Inc. (BIDU) reported first-quarter net earnings of 85.5 million yuan ($11.1 million), or 2.47 yuan per share (32 cents), up from 35.2 million yuan, or 1.02 yuan a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue rose to 275.6 million yuan ($35.7 million) from 135.6 million yuan last year. The Beijing-based Internet search provider forecast second-quarter revenue of 378 million yuan to 388 million yuan ($48.9 million to $50.2 million).
Boeing Co. (BA) confirmed that Russia's S7 Group has ordered 10 737-800s and secured purchase rights for an additional 10 aircraft. At list prices, the order is valued at $705 million.
Broadcom Inc. (BRCM) said that first-quarter earnings slipped by 48percent despite a small increase in sales. For the quarter ended March 31, the company said earnings were $61 million, or 10 cents a share, compared to earnings of $117.7 million, or 20 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue was up slightly to $901.5 million compared to $900.6 million last year.
CNet Networks Inc. (CNET) , the No. 9 ranked Internet destination, said it's net loss widened on the cost of its stock options investigation, while sales increased 10 percent. For the quarter ended March 31, CNet reported a loss of $9.1 million, or 6 cents a share, compared to last year's loss of $1.3 million, or a penny a share. CNet's sales rose to $92.1 million from last year's $83.4 million.
Cohu Inc.'s (COHU) first-quarter net income decreased 51 percent to $1.69 million, or 7 cents a share, from $3.42 million, or 15 cents a share, a year earlier. The semiconductor company said Thursday sales fell 6 percent to $53.4 million from $56.8 million.
Columbia Sportswear Co. (COLM) reported first-quarter net earnings of $26.1 million, or 71 cents a share, up 34 percent from $19.5 million, or 52 cents a share, during the same period last year. The Portland, Ore.-based apparel company said revenue in the three months ended March 31 rose to $289.6 million from $260.2 million in the same period last year.
Conexant Systems Inc. (CNXT) said its second-quarter loss widened to $133.4 million, or 27 cents a share, from $10.1 million, or 2 cents a share, a year earlier.
Developers Diversified Realty Corp.'s (DDR) first-quarter net income rose 26 percent to $62.5 million, or 42 cents a share, from $49.7 million, or 33 cents a share, a year earlier, as revenue grew 16 percent. The Cleveland real estate investment trust's per-share funds from operations rose to 91 cents from 78 cents a share a year earlier. Revenue rose 16 percent to $230.4 million from $199.3 million.
DeVry Inc.'s (DV) fiscal third-quarter earnings rose 46.2 percent to $22.9 million, or 32 cents a share, from $15.7 million, or 22 cents a share, a year earlier. The Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., higher-education company's revenue for the period ended March 31 increased 12.5 percent to $247.8 million from $220.2 million in the year-ago period.
Eastman Chemical Co. (EMN) said earnings in the first quarter fell to $77 million, or 91 cents a share, from $105 million, or $1.27 a share, in the year-ago quarter. Sales at the Kingsport, Tenn. company fell 0.4 percent to $1.8 billion, topping forecasts of $1.71 billion.
Federated Investors Inc. (FII) said its fourth-quarter net income grew 6percent to $51.8 million, or 50 cents a share, from $48.9 million, or 45 cents a share, a year earlier. The Pittsburgh investment-management company's increased 11 percent to $264.4 million from $238.8 million a year earlier, on growth in managed assets.
Flextronics International Ltd.'s (FLEX) fiscal fourth-quarter earnings nearly tripled to $121 million, or 20 cents a share, from $43 million, or 7 cents a share, a year earlier as net sales climbed 32 percent. The Singapore contract electronics manufacturer said that net sales for the quarter ended March 31 climbed to $4.68 billion from $3.53 billion a year earlier.
Foundry Networks Inc.'s (FDRY) preliminary first-quarter revenue was $135.8 million, up 19 percent from $114 million a year earlier. The computer hardware company didn't offer income results because of continued work on its previously announced earnings restatement.
Hartford Financial Services (HIG) reported a 20 percent increase in first-quarter net income late Thursday, driven by the company's life insurance division. The company also lifted its full-year profit forecast. Net income came in at $876 million, or $2.71 a share, vs. $728 million, or $2.34 a share, a year earlier, Hartford said. Core earnings, which exclude net realized capital gains and losses, were $843 million, or $2.61 a share, the company added.
InfoSpace Inc. (INSP) reported a first-quarter net loss of $540,000, or 2 cents a share. During the same period a year ago, the Bellevue, Wash.-based Internet and mobile search provider posted net earnings of $3.01 million, or 9 cents a share. Revenue in the three months ended March 31 fell to $86.6 million from $90.3 million in the same quarter last year. The company also said it has reached an agreement with Sandell Asset Management Corp., which holds 8.8 percent of its shares. InfoSpace said the settlement agreement incorporates several of Sandell's suggestions, including the appointment of Sandell Managing Director Nick Graziano to its board immediately.
Ingram Micro Inc.'s (IM) first-quarter net income fell 40 percent to $37 million, or 21 cents a share, from $61.7 million, or 36 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 8.5percent to $8.25 billion from $7.6 billion a year earlier.
Integrated Device Technology Inc.'s (IDTI) fiscal fourth-quarter loss narrowed to $3.41 million, or 2 cents a share, from a year-earlier loss of $26.5 million, or 13 cents a share. The San Jose, Calif., provider of semiconductor products and services said revenue for the quarter ended April 1 increased 23 percent to $206.7 million from $167.5 million a year ago.
IPCS Inc. (IPCS) declared a special cash dividend of $11 a share, payable on May 16 to shareholders of record as of May 8.
KLA-Tencor Corp. (KLAC) reported fiscal third-quarter net earnings of $154.8 million, or 76 cents a share, up 60 percent from $96.7 million, or 47 cents a share, in the year-ago period. The San Jose, Calif.-based chip-equipment maker said revenue in the three months ended March 31 rose to $716.2 million from $519.6 million in the comparable period last year.
Massey Energy Co.'s (MEE) first-quarter net income jumped to $32.6 million, or 40 cents a share, from $5.6 million, or 7 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue for the Richmond, Va., coal company increased 8.5 percent to $607.3 million from $559.5 million.
McAfee Inc.'s (MFE) first-quarter net income rose 13 percent to $46.2 million, or 28 cents a share, from $40.9 million, or 25 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue climbed 16 percent to $314.2 million from $272 million. As previously announced, these results are preliminary as McAfee will restate its historical financial statements to record additional non-cash charges from past stock-option grants.
MEMC Electronic Materials Inc.'s (WFR) first-quarter net income doubled to $134.7 million, or 58 cents a share, from $67.3 million, or 29 cents a share, a year earlier. The St. Peters, Mo., polysilicon-wafer maker said net sales increased 29 percent to $440.4 million from $341.5 million a year ago.
Microchip Technology Inc. (MCHP) reported fiscal fourth-quarter net earnings of $127.7 million, or 57 cents a share, up 69 percent from $75.6 million, or 35 cents a share, in the year-ago period. The Chandler, Ariz.-based semiconductor company said revenue in the three months ended March 31 rose 4.5 percent to $258.2 million from $247.2 million in the comparable period last year.
Microsemi Corp. (MSCC) swung to a second-quarter loss of $19.6 million, or 26 cents a share, from a profit of $13.6 million, or 20 cents a share, a year earlier, as operating expenses more than tripled. The Irvine, Calif., circuit maker's revenue rose 26 percent to $106.7 million from $84.9 million in the year-ago period.
Noble Corp. (NE) said it has named David Williams as chief operating officer.
Openwave Systems Inc. (OPWV) reported a fiscal third-quarter net loss of $32.5 million, or 35 cents a share. During the same period a year ago, the Redwood City, Calif.-based software company posted net earnings of $9.57 million, or 10 cents a share. Revenue in the three months ended March 31 fell to $71.1 million from $113 million last year, the company said.
ON Semiconductor Corp., (ONNN) , a Phoenix-based provider of semiconductor device reported that first-quarter revenue rose 12percent to $374.2 million from $334 million. The company expects second-quarter revenue of about $375 million to $385 million.
PerkinElmer Inc. (PKI) reported first-quarter net earnings of $14.7 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with $23.6 million, or 18 cents a share, the year before. Adjusted for onetime items, the per-share profit stood at 24 cents. Revenue at the Boston-based maker of scientific instruments rose to $402.9 million from $355.5 million.
Rackable Systems Inc. (RACK) swung to a first-quarter loss of $10.2 million, or 36 cents a share, from a year-earlier profit of $5.97 million, or 23 cents a share, as pricing pressure from competitors on its top three accounts eroded earnings and expenses rose. The Milpitas, Calif., data-storage company said Thursday that revenue fell 15 percent to $72 million from $84.4 million.
SanDisk Corp. (SNDK) reported it swung to a small loss in the first quarter, hurt by steep price cuts for flash-memory chips used in consumer electronics. SanDisk posted a loss of $575,000, or breakeven on a per-share basis, compared with a profit of $35 million, or 17 cents a share a year ago. For the three months ended April 1, SanDisk said sales rose 26 percent to $786 million, outpacing Wall Street's forecast.
Secure Computing Corp.'s (SCUR) first-quarter loss narrowed to $11.5 million, or 18 cents a share, from $12.8 million, or 25 cents a share, a year earlier, as revenue grew 26 percent. The San Jose company's revenue rose to $53.8 million from $42.6 million in the year-ago period.
Sierra Wireless Inc. (SWIR) said the first quarter of 2007 was a period of record revenue, improved profitability, new product launches and "strategic milestones.
Standard Pacific Corp. (SPF) reported a first-quarter net loss of $40.8 million, or 63 cents a share. During the same period a year ago, the Irvine, Calif.-based home builder posted net earnings of $94.8 million, or $1.38 a share. Revenue for the three months ended March 31 fell to $698.3 million from $879 million, the company said.
Trident Microsystems Inc. (TRID) said fiscal third-quarter revenue climbed 35 percent to $60.6 million from $44.7 million.
Universal Health Services Inc.'s (UHS) first-quarter net income fell to $49.5 million from $51.1 million a year earlier. Earnings per share rose to 92 cents from 88 cents, as the number of outstanding shares fell. Revenue increased 16 percent to $1.2 billion from $1.03 billion.
Websense Inc. (WBSN) said that its subsidiary, Websense SC Operations Ltd., has made a pre-conditional cash offer to acquire all of the issued shares, excluding treasury shares, of SurfControl Plc (SRF) in a deal valued at $400 million. SurfControl is a U.K.-based provider of software-based Web and email security solutions.
Western Digital Corp.'s (WDC) third-quarter net income rose to $121 million, or 53 cents a share, from $102 million, or 45 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. The Lake Forest, Calif., data storage company's revenue rose to $1.41 billion from $1.13 billion.
