A young child was reportedly kidnapped on Monday after a fellow student said he saw a man in a blue van take the child from the Washington state school.

"There was a report of a child that saw another child being abducted … about an hour before school started,” said Andy Muntz of the Discovery Elementary School.

A 10-year-old said he saw a Hispanic man get out of a van, put his hand over a boy's mouth, put him in the van and then drive away, deputies said.

The child then went to the school's office to report what he saw, Muntz said.

"We check the attendance of those sessions and no one was unaccounted for” during the morning class session, Muntz said.

“School officials are taking attendance right now to determine if anyone is missing,” said Rebecca Hover of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

The student was described as a white 5- to 7-year-old and was wearing a dark coat, a dark ski cap and a backpack. The man who allegedly took him is Hispanic, in his early 20s and was wearing a dark red raincoat.
