Phoenix police are investigating a shooting at a South Phoenix residence Tuesday night.

Three people were wounded and one killed. The shootings occurred during a party at 16th Street and Southern.

Police say it began in the front yard of the house where the party was being held.

Shots were fired, and four people were hit.

One person was killed in the shooting, another was shot in the chest, and two others were shot in the leg.

Channel 12 in Phoenix reports that one person has been taken into custody.

That individual is believed to be solely responsible for the shooting. No weapon has yet been recovered.

The investigation is in the early stages.
