Can Katharine McPhee Knock Fellow 'Idol' Chris Daughtry Out of Top Spot?

"American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee's self-titled debut CD comes out Tuesday, and whose place is she hoping to steal at the top of the charts?

None other than last year's fourth-place "Idol" winner Chris Daughtry, whose band, called Daughtry, hit No. 1 last week on the strength of its first single, "It's Not Over."

"Daughtry," released on Sony BMG's RCA label on Nov. 21, has sold nearly 1.3 million copies.

Meanwhile, last year's "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks' CD has fallen to No. 50, scanning less than half the sales of Daughtry: roughly 580,000 copies.

And former "Idol" winner Fantasia released her second CD at the same time Hicks did, and now her disk is down to No. 66, with sales of just over 250,000 copies.
