9 Americans Killed in Iraq Over Christmas Weekend

A violent weekend for American soldiers in Iraq is continuing into Christmas Day.

According to the U.S. military, a soldier died today in a roadside bombing in southern Baghdad. Two others were wounded.

Today's death comes on top of eight American losses over the weekend.

A Marine and a soldier assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7 died yesterday. Both were wounded while fighting in Anbar province in western Iraq.

A roadside bomb killed three military policemen in Baghdad on Saturday. An explosion in Diyala left another soldier dead. And two others were killed by roadside blasts near the capital.
