"Simple Life" star Nicole Richie faces jail time if she's convicted of DUI, because she has a prior drunken-driving arrest.

Four years ago, Richie pleaded no contest to drunken driving and got three years' probation. A second DUI conviction is a mandatory five-day jail stint in California.

Richie was stopped in 2002 after blowing a red light and zooming over a speed bump at 50 mph, according to documents obtained by TMZ.com. She told cops all she had that day were fries and a shot of vodka.

On Monday, Richie was spotted going against highway traffic. She allegedly admitted she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot earlier.
