A detective was arrested Thursday on charges that he tried to woo a woman he was assigned to watch by showing her confidential information about the slaying case he was involved in.
Authorities allege that Palm Beach County Detective Joseph Archambault showed the woman her photo in a log of people who were being watched as part of the investigation into the deaths of a family of four whose bodies were found Oct. 13 along the Florida Turnpike in Port St. Lucie.
The woman is not one of the four suspects arrested Oct. 26. Archambault is accused of sharing the information that same day, but after the arrests were made.

"The information he gave out did not damage the investigation," Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokesman Paul Miller said.
Archambault, 36, was charged with unlawful disclosure of confidential criminal information, a third-degree felony. He was booked into Palm Beach County jail and released on $25,000 bail.
"He's very disappointed that these charges have been brought, but he is also confident that he will be vindicated in court," defense attorney Scott Richardson said. "He intends to plead not guilty."
Archambault met the woman while conducting surveillance relating to the case, according to a sheriff's affidavit.
The next day, Archambault invited the woman to his home, where he told her that she was a person of interest in the case and showed the confidential photos, the affidavit said. The woman later reported the encounter with Archambault to the sheriff's office.
Archambault told investigators that he wanted to have a relationship with the woman and acknowledged having her over to his home. He said he did not know her last name or that she was a person of interest in a homicide case. He also denied showing her confidential photos, the affidavit said.
