We had a big story to talk about today on the show. Sen. John Kerry, giving a speech in Pasadena, California, told his audience — to paraphrase — they better study or they will end up stuck in Iraq.
The comments created a firestorm just five days away from the midterm elections. Kerry says it was a "botched joke" that was only intended to insult President Bush. No apology necessary.
Sen. Kerry decided to cancel all campaign appearances today as a result, saying he didn't want to be a "distraction."
Many politicians commented on "FOX & Friends" this morning about the Kerry comments: Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Sen. Mike DeWine of Ohio, former Democratic presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark and others.

While this story dominated the news today, there was also breaking medical news we reported. Dr. Manny talked about the new study coming out saying scientists have now been able to pinpoint how many babies die of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS. It may have something to do with the way the brain stem in certain babies metabolizes serotonin. It's a huge finding for the medical field, and for parents.
