The U.S. Capitol Police have a new chief.
Congressional officials have named 43-year-old Phillip Morse to succeed acting Chief Christopher McGaffin, who's retiring. McGaffin replaced Terrance Gainer, who resigned last spring.
Morse is a 21-year veteran of the agency. He's scheduled to start his new job Monday.
The Capitol Police have increased thier ranks by 50 percent since the Nine-Eleven terrorist attacks, but the force has come under criticim because of a recent security lapse. An armed man got through a security barrier last month, ran through an unguarded door and led officers on a four-story chase before being captured.
