TORRINGTON, Connecticut – Police were looking for a robber whose disguise was a rubber Halloween mask of President George W. Bush.
Charles Gardner told police he was on the front steps of his home Wednesday when the robber with a gun demanded cash, the Republican American newspaper reported in Thursday editions.
Police said the robber in the Bush mask, who also used a bad southern accent, put the gun barrel to Gardner's temple and demanded money.
Gardner said he had just been to the bank to cash his $1,000 Social Security check when he was robbed.
The robber made off with the cash and fled in an older model white car, police said.
