The parents of Brandon Valley students are being offered free kits to test their teens for drugs.
The donated kits come from a Missouri Internet business and normally cost $20. They test for the 10 most common illegal drugs, including marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamines.
The free kits are available by visiting the Brandon Valley School District's Web site.
High school principal Gregg Talcott said he got interested in the drug-testing kits after a survey showed that this year's graduating class used fewer drugs and less alcohol than earlier classes.
It would be foolish to assume that some young people don't go astray, he said, adding that the kits may be useful to their parents.
