Just one singles match was completed yesterday before play was suspended by rain. The lone match provided an upset as fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva was beaten by Jelena Jankovic, 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals. Jankovic will be playing in her first grand slam semifinal later this week.
