Cloris Leachman and Patricia Clarkson were among the winners Saturday at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which precede next week's main ceremony.

The creative arts awards recognized technical and other achievements for the 2005-06 season.

Leachman was honored as outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for Fox's "Malcolm in the Middle." The award for outstanding actor in the category went to Leslie Jordan for NBC's "Will & Grace."

Clarkson was named outstanding guest actress in a drama series for HBO's "Six Feet Under," while Christian Clemenson's work in ABC's "Boston Legal" won him a best guest actor trophy.

The ceremony, hosted by the comedy duo Penn & Teller, will air as a two-hour special on E! Entertainment next Saturday.

Among networks, HBO received a leading 17 awards, followed by ABC with 10 and NBC with eight. CBS, Fox and PBS each received seven creative arts awards. The most honored program was HBO's miniseries "Elizabeth I," which received five awards.

Honors for best comedy and drama series, best TV movie and other achievements will be given Sunday, Aug. 27, in a ceremony airing on NBC and hosted by Conan O'Brien.
