NEW ORLEANS – Popular TV psychologist Phil McGraw, who brought his "Dr. Phil" show to New Orleans when much of the city was under water just after Hurricane Katrina, returned this week to shoot follow-up episodes to air in coming weeks.
He's also hosting a benefit concert for first-responders and their families. Comedian Jeff Foxworthy, R&B singer Brian McKnight, jazz pianist Allen Toussaint and country music duo Brooks & Dunn were expected to perform Thursday night at the New Orleans Arena.
Since touring the city by boat in early September, McGraw has used his show to focus on the city's recovery efforts and post-Katrina stress and mental health challenges, particularly for first responders.

Back in September, he met with police officers and firefighters who lost their homes. Their families were living elsewhere. Two police officers had committed suicide. The footage was included in a special episode of his show entitled "Rescuing The Rescuers."
This week McGraw revisited many of the people and places he saw in the days following the Aug. 29 storm.
